The Ethical Direct Seller Association (EDSA) is a non-governmental, non-political, and not-for-profit organization established with the objective of promoting ethical, transparent, and legally compliant direct selling practices in India.
EDSA functions solely as a self-regulatory and awareness body and does not act as a statutory authority, regulator, enforcement agency, or governmental body. The Association does not exercise any control over the business operations, management decisions, compensation structures, or commercial activities of any member company or direct seller.
The primary role of EDSA is to educate, guide, and support its members by disseminating information relating to applicable laws, including the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021 and Consumer Protection Act, 2019, promoting best practices, and encouraging voluntary compliance within the direct selling industry.
EDSA does not guarantee, certify, endorse, or warrant the legality, financial viability, or business performance of any member entity or individual. Membership of EDSA shall not be construed as approval, licensing, or validation of any business model, product, or service offered by the member.
The Association shall not be held liable for any acts, omissions, representations, disputes, losses, damages, or legal consequences arising out of the conduct of its members. Any business transaction, representation, or engagement undertaken by a member is solely at the discretion and risk of the concerned parties.
EDSA reserves the right to admit, reject, suspend, or terminate membership at its sole discretion, in the interest of maintaining ethical standards and the integrity of the Association, without any obligation to assign reasons.
