Find answers to common questions about Direct Selling and our Association in India.
About the Association
Our association is the national representative body of the direct selling industry in India. We promote ethical business practices and ensure that our member companies follow the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021.
Members receive instant industry credibility, access to market research, legal guidance on Indian regulations, and networking opportunities with other ethical leaders in the direct selling space.
We enforce a strict Code of Ethics that prohibits deceptive practices. We also provide a mechanism for grievance redressal and ensure companies offer cooling-off periods and buy-back policies as per Indian law.
About Direct Selling
Direct selling is a retail channel where products and services are sold directly to customers through a network of independent sellers, often via personal demonstrations or digital recommendations, rather than through fixed retail stores.
Pyramid schemes are illegal in India. They focus on making money by recruiting new members who pay high entry fees. Legitimate direct selling focuses on selling actual products to consumers, with commissions based on sales, not recruitment.
You can join by contacting any of our member companies listed in the Showcase. Most require you to register through an existing consultant and follow their specific training and ethical guidelines.
